Previous Retreat Feedback:

“I just returned form the best yoga retreat with Erica and a group of fantastic, funny, smart and genuine women. The yoga and guided mediation & journaling was meaningful because of Erica’s gifted perception and spirit. The accommodations were clean and very comfortable with lots of space for participants to have privacy, indoors and outdoors. The meals were nutritious, with options for specific dietary needs. It was more than I could have imagined. Honestly the most fulfilling and magical yoga retreat I’ve ever been on.”

“Thank you for hosting and officiating my amazing journey of enlightenment during this very challenging time in my life. You have helped me beyond my expectations. My heart is lighter, brighter, and grateful. I will hold this experience close to my heart always. Thank you for inner vision, spirit, wisdom, and enlightenment. You are doing what you were meant to do!”

“Feels good to remember my dreams again! I hope you know I would change nothing about the experience. You have a way of making people feel safe and every detail was planned to make account for our needs.”

“This retreat was just what I needed it was truly one of the best trips and best gifts to myself. The location and weather were amazing and we were taught to slow down and really appreciate what was going on around and inside of us. It was a wonderful and restorative and a great opportunity. I was very happy there and loved the camaraderie and wisdom on the women and the healthy food and yoga and meditation and reiki! Erica provided a safe space for us to fully unwind and rediscover parts of ourselves we had left behind, she also did a great schedule with a little down time, but I never felt bored not once!”

“Every basic need was met and considered. This meant I didn’t need to think about anything but my physical and emotional journey. Shuttle to location, stops for basics, great meals prepared…Next, I loved the location and the climate was beautiful. Finally, the overall safety and serenity Erica projected and maintained for participants. I wouldn’t change anything about the retreat. Everything fit comfortably and adjustments were made with ease.”

“I met wonderful people and had a soul relaxing time at Erica’s Panama Yoga Retreat. The combination of yin yoga and flow yoga was perfectly interspersed with guided meditation, Reiki, and relaxation time.”

Important Things to Know

In order to utilize the included airport transport, you must arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) by 2pm on Thursday, April 25th and have a departure flight for later than 12pm on Monday, April 29th.

*If you do not schedule your flights within these time ranges, you will be responsible for private transport. (Private transport is not included and costs are approximately $100 for one way). Please advise if your flight will not arrive and depart within the scheduled time frame so I can help you set up your own transport.

Our local private chef is able to accommodate for various dietary needs. Dietary questions are included in the booking contract & questionnaire.

Yoga mats are NOT provided, but yoga blocks are. You are encouraged to bring a travel yoga mat and your own blocks if you can fit them in your luggage. If not, do not worry! Bring an extra beach towel or two for yoga and we will adapt accordingly! This is meant to be a relaxing, peaceful time to recenter, connect with yourself & engage in healing & self-care practices.

Costa Rica is WARM! (Or hot, depending on how you perceive weather). Expect daytime temperatures in the 80’s and night temperatures in the 70’s. As Costa Rica is closer to the equator, the sun is also closer to the Earth. This means that even if you don’t usually burn from the sun, you have a greater chance of getting a sunburn here. The sun is strong, so please bring necessary coverups and/or sunscreen. Hats, sunglasses, and linen clothes are all recommended. You may also want to bring a travel umbrella to walk on the beach in the daytime. (Handheld umbrellas are a common way to stay safe from the sun in Central America).

Laundry is available on site. I will provide unscented Tide pods and unscented bounce sheets. If you have special laundry needs, please bring your own detergents, dryer sheets, and/or fabric softener if you plan to use the washer & dryer.

Everything is optional! To get the most out of your retreat experience, I highly recommend participating in the planned activities, however, everything is complete optional.

The style of Vinyasa yoga I teach is slow & strong and accessible to even the newest yoga students. Yin yoga, the other style of yoga offered during the retreat is a seated, deep stretch practice. Flexibility is not necessary, nor is physical strength. Yin yoga allows for the connective tissues to get a much needed stretch and helps nurture joints. To view the type of yoga you can expect on the retreat, try my YouTube classes here.

A retreat is a beautiful gift to the self. Retreats help you to take some time away from the busyness of life and pause and reflect on your life, its purpose and meaning, and where you want to direct your energy moving forward.

This retreat is intended to create an energetic shift within you to bring you to a more peaceful, more aligned, and more fulfilled version of yourself. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to convene with nature, yourself, and others in a tropical paradise.

Frequently Asked Questions

To use the provided airport transport:

Fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport by 2pm on Thursday, April 25th/Fly out after 12pm on Monday, April 29th

What meals are covered?

Dinner on Thursday, April 25th

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on April 26th, 27th, 28th

Breakfast on April 29th

What kind of food will be served?

Traditional Costa Rican cuisine cooked by a local chef who is also a nutritionist! Dietary restrictions are not a problem (I myself have celiac and must eat a gluten free diet, so do not worry about requesting special dietary needs).

What kind of yoga will we do?

I will teach vinyasa (slow & strong style) and yin yoga (seated, held positions that stretch connective tissues, not use muscular strength). The yoga will be varied depending on the theme but will be accessible with modifications available.

What is the house like?

It is a 6-bedroom, 5 bathroom house with two pools, lounge areas, tennis court, bocce ball court, and pool table situated on the Pacific Ocean. There are two single rooms, and four double rooms (with two beds each). There is a large yard and plenty of space to stretch out and relax or sunbathe.

How far is the beach?

The house is located on the beach.

Why is this a sober event?

Alcohol and drugs do not mix well with spirituality. It is in the best interest of you and all participants if this is a completely sober event. When doing yoga and other healing work, it is best for your body to be as free as possible from toxins. Our meals will be prepared fresh, we will be in nature, and plenty of other beverages, like water, juices, teas, coffee, and cacao will be provided.

What if I haven't done yoga or any of these other things before?

I love beginners! I try to make things as accessible as possible, usually by remembering how I felt when I first walked into a yoga studio and felt extremely intimidated and like I didn't belong. I give to others today what I needed back then - a welcoming attitude, encouragement, and understanding from a beginner's perspective. And, if you find I am not explaining things well enough, please just let me know!

The Yoga I teach is accessible within reason, provided you have no extremely limiting physical conditions. We can discuss if you have any injuries or sensitive areas before you commit to the retreat.

Guided meditation is simply following the sound of my voice. I will usually have you either sitting up against a chair or wall or lying down, not in the traditional sitting up seated position you might think of (and might find painful if you aren't used to it).

Guided journaling is giving you questions to specifically answer in your journal and is done in a "stream of consciousness" way. This means that you put pen to paper and write things down, no matter what comes out or how it looks or sounds. No one will read it (you might not even read it again!) so it is supposed to just be a flow to release, not be grammatically correct or even make sense!

Cacao is chocolate in its purest form. Working with cacao ceremonially is a form of plant medicine. The cacao helps to warm the heart and connect you deeper to spirit, including your own. It can also help release stored emotions, boost creativity, and encourage compassion for others and yourself. You always have the option not to drink the cacao but still join us in ceremony. You can have coffee, hot water, or tea if you prefer.

A fire ceremony is setting a clear intention or release topic and burning it in the fire. It is perfectly safe! We have a fire pit in the yard.

There is one included Reiki session with your retreat fee. You can opt not to have Reiki but there is no discount if you choose to opt out of your Reiki session. All events are included in the retreat fee and there is no alteration to the fees even if you decide not to participate in any events.

What's the bathroom situation?

Most bedrooms have a full private bathroom. There is hot, clean water! (This isn't always possible to find in Central America).

Are there hammocks on the property?

Yes! There are several hammocks to enjoy on the property.

Will my phone work?

It depends! There is free wifi at the house, so depending on your carrier your phone may have some service on wifi. You can also call your phone company to see if you need to add onto your plan for it to work outside of the United States. You can also check if your phone plan is compatible with the service towers in Costa Rica. Sometimes phones work totally find when traveling abroad; other times they only work on wifi.

What else is helpful for me to know?

Laundry (a washer and a dryer) is available on site.

All activites are optional, but recommended to get the most out of the retreat

The retreat is limited to 8 participants total

Rooms are on a first come, first serve basis. If you really want to go, be sure to reserve your space soon!

What is the food like?

Costa Rican food is similar to other Central American countries - rice, beans, fish, poultry, eggs, and meats, beans, vegetables, tortillas, etc. I have hired a chef to cook all of our meals and she is able to accommodate special needs (for example, I have to eat gluten free) so please don’t let a special diet stop you from joining in! The house also has two kitchens, so if you really want to prepare your own meals instead, there is plenty of space to do so.

When will your next retreat be held?

Currently, the plans for the next retreat are October 2024, and that will be stateside and driving distance. We are looking into creating a long weekend in Upstate New York to do some mining for crystals! Everything is in the very early planning stages right now. For out of the country retreats, it is looking like the next retreat will most likely be in March of 2025.

How do I know if this retreat is right for me?

Use your intuition! If it feels right for you to join us, then do so! Often, your intuition will tell you to do something (you may have that “gut” feeling, or feel a little nudge within, or maybe synchronicities happen) but too often intuition is either ignored or overpowered by fear. So if it goes something like this: “Oh, I really want to do this!” and it is followed by something like this: “Oh, I can’t do that. It’s too far, too many days, I’m scared to leave the country, what if I don’t like the food, etc. etc. etc.”, then fear is getting in your way. Your intuition will be a gentle nudge - “Hey, this would be good for you,” and your ego or fear will give you a list of reasons why you shouldn’t do it…listen to your intuition. You will always make the right choices when you listen to your intuition. :)

What are the sleeping and bathroom arraignments?

There are two single rooms and four double rooms. Each of the four double rooms has two twin beds. Most bedrooms have their own bathrooms.

What if I don’t speak any Spanish?

You don’t need to speak any Spanish to join us on this retreat! I’ll be meeting you at the airport with the driver and be with you at the house the entire time. I speak enough Spanish to translate when needed, if needed.

Do I have to exchange money in Costa Rica?

Only if you want to. Costa Rica takes the American Dollar, but it is unlikely you will need to use any money other than if you forget something important. If that happens, we can stop at a store en route to the house so you can get what you need. Credit cards are accepted, as is the US dollar, so you won’t need to worry about exchanging money unless you’d like to have some Costa Rican money on hand for an excursion or to take home as a souvenir.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through PayPal Financing. If you are approved, you get six months with no interest, which, depending on your room choice, could mean a monthly payment of $213 - $263 for six months, or lower if you take longer to pay it off (but keep in mind that with that option, interest will accrue). If you’d like to use PayPal financing, please email info@soultosoulsessions.com so we can set you up that way.

How is this different from other Yoga Retreats?

A lot of yoga retreats on the market tend to offer yoga in the morning and the evening and the rest of the time is free or excursion time. This retreat is different in that while yoga is offered every morning and evening, there are also group activities, healing sessions, sharing circles, cacao ceremonies, Reiki, and guided meditation. You still have a few hours of free time each afternoon, but most of the day is structured (although, it is in a slow, moving with the pace of the group structure). As such, you can expect to get a lot more out of this retreat than you might from just a yoga retreat.

What if I want to come but I don’t know anyone else who is going?

So far, all of the lovely ladies who have signed up are women I have worked with in the past (and a few who attended the last retreat) and I can say that they are super easy to get along with and are very welcoming! Additionally, on the first day we will do introductions so you can get to know everyone. I have several clients who have made lifelong friends just by going on a retreat on their own, so maybe it is your turn to experience this!

How did people feel about your previous retreats?

Here’s some feedback from participants who attended previous retreats:

“Thank you for hosting and officiating my amazing journey of enlightenment during this very challenging time in my life. You have helped me beyond my expectations. My heart is lighter, brighter, and grateful. I will hold this experience close to my heart always. Thank you for inner vision, spirit, wisdom, and enlightenment. The combination of Yin Yoga and Flow Yoga was perfectly interspersed with guided meditation, Reiki, and relaxation time. I liked the daily schedule with yoga in the morning and evening. I enjoyed the guided meditation and find this easier for me than just sitting meditation. I felt free to share or not to share. The house was phenomenal as was the food.”
